El Zocalo Imports opened in April 2004. We strive to bring
the best folk art, jewelry, home décor, religious iconography,
graphic tees, paper flowers and papel picado decorations,
fun and whimsical items and typical clothing from Mexico,
Guatemala and Peru. We work hard to insure fair trade
prices for our suppliers.

Artisans from villages throughout Mexico provide El Zocalo
with hand-painted retablos, and Mexican Oilcloth table
covers, beachbags handbags, hand-punched tin work and
lighted stars from San Miguel de Allende, Sterling Silver
Jewelry from Taxco mouth-blown glassware from Jalisco,
hand-carved wooden sculptures of santos (saints), green
ceramic pineapples and candle holders plus small furniture
pieces from Patzcuaro, Michoacan, ceremonial and coconut
masks from Guerrero and Textiles, Filigree Earrings, black
pottery and alebrijes from Oaxaca. The store carries many
different iconic items from all over the country from Virgen
the Guadalupe paintings and sculptures and Lucha Libre

would a Latin folk art store be without a section devoted to
Dia de los Muertos? El Zocalo Imports has a vast selection
of pieces from all over Mexico made from a range of
materials from clay and metal to wood and paper mache.
